Not sure where you fit on the French level scale? You’re not alone! To make things simple, we’ve created a clear visual guide showing how the Quebec Francisation (MIFI) scale aligns with CEFR levels and Pardon my French! levels.
Most official exams such as the TCF, TEFAQ, or DELF require a B2 level (Level 7).
With Pardon my French!, classic group classes are designed so that each level can be completed in about 7 weeks, or roughly two months, allowing you to progress efficiently and confidently toward your goals.
*A CEFR level (Common European Framework of Reference for Languages) is an international standard defining language proficiency on a six-level scale (A1, A2, B1, B2, C1, C2) from beginner to mastery, helping teachers, learners, and employers assess language skills consistently across different languages for education, employment, and communication.
Here’s a quick overview of what you can expect at each level. Before registering, please review the level description carefully to ensure you meet all the required language skills.

You will also work on reflexive pronouns and pronominal verbs in all major tenses, as well as master complex negative structures. These elements will help you speak with greater nuance, accuracy, and confidence in a wide range of everyday and professional situations.

Intermédaire 2 is introducing more advanced past and conditional structures. You will learn to use the past conditionnel passé (past conditional) to talk about hypothetical past situations, the participe présent (present participle) to express simultaneous actions, and the plus-que-parfait (pluperfect) to describe events that happened before another past action. You will also work on common conditional expressions to express cause, consequence, and hypotheses, helping you build more precise and structured sentences.
Conversation objective

B2 - Level 7-8
Learning objectives
